I understand the remake is opening the Ishimura up, but I’m not concerned about it considering it’s a single ship, if anything it’ll come off similar to RE2 with the backtracking and what have you. In my opinion, the back and forth of Dead Space 3’s flotilla section had a lot of negative effects on the story’s pacing.ġ and 2 worked so well because they were tight, linear experiences. Just reading about their original ideas for Dead Space 4 had me concerned all this flotilla crap and semi-open world stuff would have fucked things up. I think the only way forward is to do some massive rewrites of a potential Dead Space 3 remake.Īs much as I don’t totally hate Dead Space 3’s story (albeit with some gripes) they absolutely wrote themselves into a corner. And when he wakes up in the rubble as the sole survivor, his first instinct is to call Ellie. Yeah, classic dream cop-out, but it retains all of the story, and makes Awakened DLC feasible. Humans couldn't stay unified, spent too much time killing each other, just to finally become a whole cohesive moon.

Also I liked that humans and the Moons were polar opposites, finally coming together.

The bleak endings always get me and as much as everyone loves an underdog, if a whole advanced alien race had to flash freeze and cause their own extinction just to MAKE THE MOON NAP, one crazy mf who can't even keep himself together enough to make a solid choice (AKA allowing carver to take the codex) could have never stopped them all.
